Ruger Announces New Ruger Precision Rifle Models

Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR) is proud to announce enhancements to the popular Ruger Precision Rifle™, making a great rifle even better. This new version has all the great features of the Ruger Precision Rifle, but now comes with a new handguard that offers increased scope clearance, a hybrid muzzle brake to reduce felt recoil and a billet aluminum bolt shroud that has proven to be a popular upgrade with Ruger Precision Rifle owners.

"It has been very gratifying to see the interest our customers have taken in the Ruger Precision Rifle," noted Ruger CEO Mike Fifer. "But as great as the gun is, we recognize there is always room for improvement. The enhancements we've made will improve the gun's utility and aesthetics and the Ruger Precision Rifle will perform out-of-the-box better than ever," he concluded.

The new Ruger Precision Rifle short-action handguard omits the Picatinny rail at the 12:00 position, allowing more clearance for the larger objective lenses on many long-range scopes. In addition, a wider KeyMod™ flat at the 6:00 position provides for a more stable foundation for mounting bipods.

A new Ruger Precision Rifle hybrid muzzle brake reduces felt recoil by as much as 58% (depending on caliber and barrel length) which often improves a shooter's accuracy over a longer string of fire by reducing fatigue. The new Ruger hybrid muzzle brake locks into position using an easy-to-use external jam nut, rather than shims, and the hybrid port setup reduces noise and blast to the sides of the shooter.

The Ruger Precision Rifle's billet aluminum bolt shroud offers an improvement in the rifle's look and feel. The bolt shroud houses a bolt disassembly tool and a trigger pull adjustment tool. The new shroud is sure to be appreciated, especially by those who look closely at small details.
